Life Apps for the week of 12/21/14 to 12/27/14

A way to live:

Can you act on your inner convictions?  Do check whether or not an inner conviction can be done and life will be better off.  If the answer to both is yes, do it.  Need help to do it?  Offer one of your most fervent prayers for the help you need.
[Suggested by Luke 1:26-38]

Leisure – “Why Teenagers Act Crazy” by Richard A. Friedman, Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the Weill Cornell Medical College in the NY Times of 6/28/14; adolescence is not play-time; it can be fraught with anxiety and fear.  For teens, the amygdala, which processes fear, develops faster than the prefrontal cortex, the seat of reasoning and executive control.  The problem needs to be understood.  It can be helped.  Biblical reference: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid” (Jesus to the twelve in a boat and frightened by a storm on the Sea of Galilee, Mark 6:50).  http://nyti.ms/1mrfwfG
