Andy, a church member, was named volunteer of the year by a public service group. Retired, he serves on 
the board of a free community health center in a western state. The center wants to build a similar center in Kenya. Andy had worked in planning before retirement. Public service had always been a high value for Andy so that offering to go to Kenya to support the planning – at his own expense – came easily. The Kenyans needed such help and he gave it without dominating them. A video of Andy’s work with the people shows the very genuine love as well as respect they developed for him during his six trips there. Incidentally, the video was made by the service group over his objection.
