A way to live a mission in the field of your spiritual health based on Matthew 5:13-20, a reading from The Revised Common Lectionary for the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany, 2/5/17. Jesus is saying: “You, my followers, are to add richness to life as salt increases the flavor of food. You are to be a light to others. Your light, your good works, is to be seen by all like a city on a hill or a lamp in a home. Shine so others are led to praise God whose work you are doing. I have not come to set aside the teachings of the law and the prophets but to fulfill them. Whoever breaks them or teaches others to break them will be the least in God’s reign. Whoever keeps them and teaches other to keep them will be great in God’s reign. However, you must be more righteous than your leaders to be part of God’s reign.”
