A way to live at work:
The work place can have some conditions that make work there difficult. Talk with your coworkers about them. They often go away.
Based on Luke 8:26-59
[A way to live at work suggested by a reading for many churches for The Fifth Sunday after Pentecost for 6/19/16. In the country of the Gerasenes, Jesus meets a man afflicted with demons. The man kneels before Jesus. The demon speaks from the man asking, “What have you to do with me?” Jesus asks the demon’s name. It is “Legion” for there are many of them. They beg Jesus not to send them to the abyss of hell. Jesus agrees. They ask to go into a herd of pigs on a nearby hill. They do and the pigs run into the lake and drown. The villagers find the man cured. The man wants to join Jesus’ followers. Jesus says no, “Go home and tell how much God has done for you.”
Jesus has to contend with demons within the man. Many people and situations have demonic forces at work under the surface. They need to be confronted and named to overcome them.]
