A way to live a mission in your prayer time
Have receptive “eyes” and “ears” to see and hear truth in your prayer time.
Based on Luke 9:28-36
A way to live a mission in your prayer time, based on Luke 9:28-3, a reading from the Revised Common Lectionary for the Transfiguration of our Lord, 8/6/17.
Jesus has just foretold his death and resurrection. Now he takes Peter, John, and James up a mountain to pray. His appearance changes as he prays. They see his face change; his clothes became dazzling white; and Moses and Eliza appear talking to him about his departure (or death) in Jerusalem. Peter says how good it is to be here and proposes putting up three tents (or dwellings), one for each of them. A cloud surrounds the three. Frightened, they still hear a voice from the cloud saying about Jesus, “This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him.” The cloud disappears and only Jesus is left. Peter, John, and James keep silent and tell no one what they have seen.
A theme: In prayer time, we can sometimes see special visions and receive special messages that come with a kind of spendor.
