Do you ever get impatient with social conventions?  With RSVP’s?  With certain dress for certain occasions?   With cards to ill friends?  Be patient.  Social conventions open the door for more serious conversations and work together.

Community – “It Takes a Mentor”by Thomas L. Friedman in the NY tImes of 9/9/14.  Gallup finds that students in college and tech school do best as “engaged” employees on a fulfilling career track when they had one or more teachers who encouraged their goals and dreams as mentors.  Biblical reference: “Follow me and I will make you fish for people” and they did even to learning to cast out demons – all in spite of their weaknesses (Mark 1:17 and Luke 10:17).

Barash, professor of psychology at the Univ. of Washington on the compatibility of evolution and religion, the need to rethink just how one sees the omnipotent and omni-benevolent God and the fact of unmerited suffering, NY Times 9/27/14.  Biblical reference: “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it (Luke 10:28)?
